The Program offers two graduate-level courses: Master’s and Doctorate. Students are encouraged to develop all stages of epidemiological research, culminating in the scientific dissemination of their results. The faculty of the PPGEpi stands out for their expertise and high-quality scientific production, with numerous studies published in national and international health journals.

The Program trains epidemiologists, master’s, and doctoral graduates, equipping them to coordinate research, analyze data, and propose solutions in the field of public health. Since its inception in 1991, the program has been recognized for conducting significant studies in Brazil and worldwide, such as the birth cohort studies. It has carried out scientific research projects, identified relevant and current problems, and contributed to the advancement of scientific knowledge in Epidemiology.
